CD #1 -
STOP SMOKING YESTERDAY™
combines the following stop smoking medical hypnosis
script with
binaural beat music technology
for a unique and powerful hypnotherapy approach to
smoking cessation:
This first segment is entitled “stop smoking yesterday”.
This audio program will explore and address your reasons
for smoking which originated in the past, in the
yesterday. It is important to be aware of the needs you
were originally trying to meet by engaging in the
smoking habit. And you may discover that some of those
needs have changed with the passage of time.
Additionally, any obstacles on the path of your success
are identified and cleared so that you can move more
smoothly to achievement of your goals. Once you
acknowledge your need, you are then guided to choose
healthy alternative behaviors that meet your needs in
the past and in the present so you don’t have to worry
about being unfulfilled, on the contrary, you will
choose activities to fulfill your needs that will
enhance your life! You will see for yourself, you will
be much happier as a non-smoker. Take a moment to get
comfortable, you will need thirty minutes or so for a
powerful inner journey that will change your life. All
that is required from you is your desire, your
intention, and your willingness to take this action. Are
you ready! Let’s begin.
Induction
JOURNEY
As you relax in this beautiful
place, get in touch with your smoking behavior. What
does it feel like to want or need a cigarette? When was
the first time you felt like you wanted or needed a
cigarette? Let that image form. How old are you? See
yourself or get a sense of your self at that time, just
as clearly as possible. What was it that you really
needed? What was it that you really wanted? (Surely at
the time it wasn’t that you wanted or needed a poisonous
cancer and disease producing smelly disgusting
cigarette).
No, you
probably wanted or needed:
Peer
Acceptance... now, not only will cigarettes NOT bring
you peer acceptance, but now they may bring you peer
rejection. Then you were misguided about what it means
to be accepted. And NOW you no longer need to inhale
poison in order to be accepted. Now, you accept yourself
by being authentic and true to yourself by expressing
who you are, your special, unique self. Yes, that was
THEN, and this is NOW.
A
Feeling of belonging... then if your peers said to
plaster your face with bird droppings, maybe you would
do that it enabled you to belong. It’s Ok, maybe you
were confused about what it takes to belong. Now, you
experience a feeling of belonging from your
relationships with family or friends or co-workers or
community. That was then and this is now. Now you don’t
need to inhale poison to belong.
Self-soothing and reduction of tension and anxiety... in
the past you may have been fooled by a temporary feeling
of relaxation, but the effects of nicotine are anything
but relaxing to the body. Smoking increases heart rate
and blood pressure, it causes shortness of breath and
dry mouth and stale stinky breath, and smoking
constricts blood vessels, of course you know that is not
relaxation. But that was then, now you relax by
breathing deeply and fully. Deep belly breathing truly
relaxes the body and the mind, can improve circulation,
increase blood flow to the brain thus improving focus
and concentration and enhancing a relaxed energetic
physical state. Your new method of meeting the need for
self-soothing is by utilizing deep breathing.
A
feeling of power... when you were younger maybe you felt
small and wanted or needed to assert yourself and to
make your own decisions, even if it meant those
decisions would harm your body. Well, that was then and
this is now. Now, you assert your power by exercising
your will and taking your power back from cigarettes and
any other negative behavior. That was then NOW, You can
do what you really want to do!! Listen to yourself and
meet your needs without harming your body!
A way
of coping with emotions such as anger and fear... as a
youth, it can be challenging to cope with the powerful
feelings of anger and fear . It’s understandable that a
young person without the experience and life skills of
an adult would reach for a cigarette instead of
expressing their feelings. But that was then and this is
now. Now you breathe deeply and talk to someone you can
trust, or write about your feelings. You now express
your feelings in creative ways such as dancing writing,
hit a punching bag or a pillow, exercising, or engaging
in hobbies. You are aware of the many creative ways to
express your feelings that increase your confidence and
feelings of well being and fulfillment, You no longer
ingest poison in an effort to cope with your feelings.
You
can see yourself now engaging in the new behaviors to
address your needs. And as you imagine yourself as a
non-smoker invite in the image of any potential
obstacle...it’s OK. It’s important that we anticipate
any obstacles and that we have a plan of action to
overcome them!
Let’s
have a look at some potential obstacles... some common
ones include:
-
Cravings
-
Fear of Weight Gain
-
Environmental Cues and their subsequent triggers
-
Habits like hand to mouth behavior
-
Habits like having something in your mouth
Now,
let’s explore our solutions and plans to overcome those
obstacles.
Cravings are just a desire to engage in an activity. You
know that your strong and powerful mind can block the
perception of pain. Countless people just like you have
had surgery, experienced childbirth and have completed
marathons with serious injuries just by using the
unlimited and wondrous power of their own mind. If you
can block the perception of pain, which you can, then
you surely can block the perception of a passing craving
for poison. Imagine the craving is like a cloud passing
over your mind. Your Mind is the clear infinite blue
sky. There are various clouds that pass through your
mind and then they are gone. Your clear beautiful, vast
and expansive mind remains calm and clear. It’s the
clouds that move and blow away. You can even use your
imagination to blow away the clouds of cravings, exhale
and blow them away. Breathe in “Calm and clear”, breathe
out, blow them away. See their shape and size and BLOW
them away with deep, full, abdominal breaths. Notice the
beautiful clear blue sky that remains, endless, ever
present, calm and at peace. Good. Another helpful method
of coping with cravings is to simply imagine a stop sign
and hear the word NO! Loudly stated anytime you have an
urge to smoke or think about smoking cigarettes. NO
!STOP!.
The
next obstacle, environmental cues and triggers. This is
an interesting one. You know about our friend Ivan
Pavlov and his dogs. He repeated and action that
involved pairing the ringing of a bell with the delivery
of food to his dogs. The food automatically caused
salivation in the dogs, but with the association of the
bell with the food, soon the dogs salivated with the
mere ringing of the bell. Now this has happened to you
if you are triggered to smoke by environmental cues. Do
you smoke when you drive, when you finish a meal? When
you talk on the phone? All that has happened is a
learned reponse that resulted from the pairing of one
activity with another. You are smarter and more powerful
than Pavlov’s dogs, and you can undo that learned
association. It just takes a little will + intention.
And now you have a new unconscious program
running....from now on when you engage in a behavior
that used to involve smoking, you now think: CALM AND
COMFORTABLE WITHOUT A CIGARETTE and notice that you have
NO MORE URGE TO SMOKE. Further more you will engage only
in productive, healthy behaviors to replace the old
outworn behaviors that no longer serve your needs. Hand
to mouth behavior is now programmed with a new behavior
that involves pressing your middle finger to a spot
between your eyebrows and saying to yourself as you
remember your infinite power and intelligence, “I WILL I
SEE THAT NOW I’M FREE”. Try it you’ll like it.
The
last obstacle we are addressing is the habit of having
something in your mouth. Now, instead of smoking a
cigarette, you drink bottled water. If all the times you
used to spend with a cigarette to your mouth are now
replaced by putting water in your mouth, then you will
enjoy the benefits of healthier skin, improved
circulation and digestion and enhanced health. You more
energy and vitality, freedom and robust health. You feel
better than ever. Let this image form a permanent and
lasting impression upon your subconscious mind. Now
bring in the image of you when you first started to
smoke. Tell that image that you care about his or her
needs and that you promise to meet those needs without
harming the body with poison. Now, ask the image if
there is anything it needs from you. Listen to the
reponse and offer to dialogue with the image of this
younger self at a later time, maybe with the assistance
of the self-love audio or your own meditation. Say your
goodbye in whatever manner feels right for you. Feel the
power and freedom and joy that comes with being a
non-smoker. Congratulations. You have chosen to STOP
SMOKING.
And
now it’s time to return to your regular awareness. If
you are listening to this recording before you go to bed
at night, then by the time I say 5, you will sink into a
deep, profoundly restful sleep, sleeping all night long,
awakening only at your pre-determined time in the
morning. If it is not time to go to sleep, then as I
count from one to five, you can become more and more
awake. And when you awaken fully, you will feel
refreshed, revitalized, restored, full of energy, a
proud and healthy non-smoker.
1,
slowly returning to your regular awareness
2, every muscle and nerve in the body is relaxed and at
ease
3, you are feeling wonderful in every way, physically
strong, healthy, vibrant and energized, mentally alert
and amused, an easy joy, emotionally, peaceful and
filled with love
4, your eyes are sparkling clear as though they were
bathed in a clear spring water, you see clearly, seeing
things in their true perspective. You are noticing that
your mind is the blue sky and cravings are nothing more
than passing clouds. You no longer find yourself taking
things personally, and the next number I count, if it’s
not time to go to sleep, then on
5, open your eyes and notice how good you feel.

"I am happy
to report that I am still a non-smoker thanks to you.
As you know, I have tried many programs, gimmicks, and
products, but was never successful. I still have craving
from time to time, but they are getting fewer and
further apart."
I view these bouts as tests of my strength. I still
listen to your CD’s almost every night. They are part of
my routine. I‘ve found that almost every aspect of my
life has improved. My health, endurance and overall
feeling of wellness has escalated because of the
confidence your non-smoking program has given to me,
I’ve been able to tackle other challenges in my life
such as alcohol consumption and diet, to name a few.
People even tell me I look better.
I’m so pleased our paths have crossed. You truly have
helped me to get more out of life. I have recommended
your therapy to others. Again I want to thank you for
your help."
